Drifting back home

Thoughts of “Bula” , “Namaste” and “Noaia”

coconut oil, coconut trees and cream

curry crab , lemon marinated fish,

laughter, grog, cheers of celebration,

coconut trees, sandy shores, smiles

ukelele, guitar strings

dreams

once were there

now a reality

of changes

stark misconceptions

twisted

dreams have struck

the islands of joy , once untouched

Daily struggles have enlarged

in the endless facades of life and

smiles.

Prepare your version of

reality in the untouched dream

of the isles.

Born in the Fiji Islands. Fiji 🇫🇯 - my home, my heart, my soul. I left my home many years ago and my heart is still there. I have learned so much of the world while living away from home and have actually learned more about myself and my home which I appreciate more each day. I realise the paradise isles are not the same as when I left home.I have idealised so much of what Fiji is in my mind and memories of having lived there. I have a dose of reality each time I re-visit the real Fiji. Still, there are so many amazing moments, places and distinct life-stories, down to earth realities that only a real home instills in your heart and soul. This site will attempt to share my experiences of living in Fiji, living away from Fiji and how I have viewed and still view the world and being in a new reality from the eyes of a Fijian. Capturing glimpses of experiences along the journey of life. Europe - The Netherlands is my current home. This is a place where I share words in poetry, prose and photos of where I have travelled; where I am and where and how I see life as it unfolds. I hope to keep it updated...let's see how that goes! Welcome, Bula (Fijian) & Noa'ia (Rotuman)!!!
